Tales O'Groats

Updated: Jan 16, 2021

The year so far has been a very difficult time for many people in our community but it has also given some the time to reflect. What many folk have said is that they have missed having a good blether whilst out and about, reminiscing or telling their tales (some longer than others!).

The thing is, we don't want those tales to be lost, and we think they ought to be shared. We want to hear your stories and see your pictures and hopefully get them published on a website and maybe in a book.

The difference is we are not just looking for stories from long ago here. This is about your knowledge, not your grandparents. We want your memories of recent times too. Especially from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s onwards. However old you are you will have something to contribute. There will be a chapter on how lock down felt for you.

If you are interested in learning more, have a tale, anecdote, tall story, whatever, to contribute or a photograph of the area you think is interesting, or someone you think should be remembered, then let us know. Ideally we would like to cover every part of the area and every age group. Something for everyone.

So get virtual blethering!
